Founded in 1946, Troop 125 is an active, boy-lead troop of roughly seventy scouts. The troop has a distinctive focus on light-weight, low-impact camping and backpacking skills in the scouting tradition.
In past years, monthly campouts have included vists to Big Bend National Park, Lone Star Hiking Trail, Pedernales Falls State Park, and Lost Maples. The troop also went hiking and backpacking in the Texas Hill Country and East Texas, canoeing on the San Marcos River and Village Creek, and deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Troop 125 even sends crews regularly on high adventure trips! Northern Tier Canoe Base, Florida Sea Base, and Philmont Scout Ranch are just some of places scouts went in the summer months.
For more information on joining this dynamic troop, please contact Scoutmaster Dave Goza at firstname.lastname@example.org. For additional details, contact the Committee Chair, Joan Gallagher, at email@example.com.
“We start out as experienced outdoorsmen from Troop 125, but we expect to grow even from that. We expect to put our learned skills to use and hone ourselves into better men, more experienced in the rawness of outdoor life and the challenges that present themselves to us daily.
We have chosen to be out on our own.
We are the Rangers and the Guides. We rely only on our wits, our Scouting spirit, and the Outfitter providing us with gear support and mapping guidance. After that, it's just us.
As a Crew, we hope to make Troop 125 proud. We hope to blaze trails for those who follow... we hope to lay ambition for ourselves that will lead to future adventure and adventurous lives. That is why we do what we do. What would be any other reason!
